Format: Haptic-Installation
Year: 2014
Materials: lead, motors, various tools
Size: 80 x 80 x 15 cm
In the present installation, the material is forming the tool and the tool is shaping the material, slowly, in time, while breathing. In the exposed relation, hand - tool - material, the only thing missing is the imprint of the human/hand.
Humans use tools as prostheses in order to transform and domesticate the "material" of their environment. As an extension of human body parts (such as the hand), tools actually prevent the direct contact between hand and material and by doing so, throughout the course of evolution, determine the constantly changing relation between society and nature, individual and environment.
