Format: Performed Sound-Installation
Year: 2010
Materials: puppet, circuit board, cables, loudspeaker
Size: 55 x 30 cm
A computer motherboard is attached to the body of a puppet, containing a little loudspeaker emitting a high sinus ton, sometimes interrupted by breathing sounds, a short loop from an interview or the identification number of the puppet. The used material for this installation is “trash”, of no use anymore. The combination between those two “forgotten” pieces (puppet and motherboard) gives a reflection of the possible future.
The performance consists in treating the puppet as a real baby: breast feeding, playing, miming a lullaby etc. The whole performance is made in silence.
Exhibited and performed at “à suivre #17” Kaserne Papiermühle in Bern, CH.
The work was also adapted for and performed in the theatre piece VWS-Der Findling, a production of OPER DYNAMO WEST und ehrliche arbeit - Freies Kulturbüro, taking place in an old laboratory of Hydraulics and shipbuilding in Berlin.
